Dairy products in Russia could rise in price. As reported by “Kommersant”, the Minister of agriculture of Alexander Tkachev, has warned the Union of milk producers. In addition, there may occur shortages of supplies.
The reason producers called the decision of the Rosselkhoznadzor as of January 20, toughening February 1, the rules of shipment of products from regions where recorded animal contagious diseases such as African swine fever, foot and mouth disease and anthrax.
Restrictions on shipment of raw milk, in particular, was imposed on 25 subjects of the Russian Federation, including the regions included in the top five in milk production in the country, Tatarstan and the Rostov region.
The document obliges the subject to the mandatory pasteurization of all dairy products exported from these regions in other.
“Soyuzmoloko” warns that because of the decision of the Rosselkhoznadzor, in fact, the supply will be stopped completely, because the vast majority of manufacturers do not have the right equipment.
Producers called the requirement of pasteurization unnecessary, indicating that raw materials are issued certificates, and dairy products in the production is subjected to heat treatment.
Rosselkhoznadzor, in turn, explain the stricter requirements for shipment of dairy produce “security matters.”
