Embassy responds to US call to “withdraw forces” from border with Ukraine

& laquo; Our solution & nbsp; & mdash; where and & nbsp; when to conduct military exercises on & nbsp; national territory. We & nbsp; will continue to conduct them because & nbsp; it is in the interest of security & nbsp; & nbsp; & mdash; says the & nbsp; message from the embassy on & nbsp; Twitter.

The & nbsp; diplomatic missions stressed that & nbsp; do not & nbsp; understand the logic under which Sherman urges Russia to withdraw troops from the & nbsp; border with & nbsp; Ukraine, when the States & nbsp; negotiations with & nbsp; Russia do not & nbsp; want to discuss Moscow and & nbsp; Washington 9 & mdash; 10 & nbsp; January in & nbsp; Geneva held consultations on & nbsp; Russia's proposals on & nbsp; security guarantees, after which a meeting of the Council Russia & nbsp; & mdash; will take place in Brussels in & nbsp; NATO, and & nbsp; in & nbsp; Vienna & nbsp; & mdash; consultations on the & nbsp; platform of the Organization for & nbsp; Security and & nbsp; Cooperation in & nbsp; Europe.

At the & nbsp; end of 2021, Russia published draft agreements with the & nbsp; USA and & nbsp; agreements with & nbsp; North Atlantic Alliance on & nbsp; security guarantees. Moscow, in & nbsp; in particular, requires its Western partners to provide legal guarantees against & nbsp; further NATO expansion to the & nbsp; & nbsp; east, & nbsp; joining the & nbsp; bloc of Ukraine and & nbsp; & nbsp; creation of military bases in & nbsp; post-Soviet countries.

USA even before & nbsp; the start of the consultations stated that & nbsp; some of the proposals were unacceptable. In & nbsp; Moscow emphasized that & nbsp; the project is not & nbsp; is of an ultimatum nature, but & nbsp; on & nbsp; unilateral concessions, especially under pressure, Russia will not & nbsp; go. Ryabkov, with & nbsp; this, did not & nbsp; ruled out that & nbsp; the dialogue with the & nbsp; States would be limited to one meeting and & nbsp; there would be no sense in continuing it & nbsp; but & nbsp; it threatens a new round of confrontation.
