Mass riots suppressed in Pavlodar

MOSCOW, 5 Jan & nbsp; & mdash; RIA News. The authorities of Pavlodar, the regional center in & nbsp; north-east of Kazakhstan, suppressed mass anti-government riots, now everything is calm in the city, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports.

As eyewitnesses told Sputnik, about & nbsp; thousands of protesters tried to storm the building of the akimat, however the police promptly lined up in the & nbsp; order of battle, turned on the sirens, used flash grenades and & nbsp; special equipment. The protesters were dispersed from the & nbsp; central square and & nbsp; carried out mass arrests that lasted until & nbsp; late evening & nbsp; and, possibly, are still going on.

The protesters reported that & nbsp; the vast majority of them & nbsp; not & nbsp; from Pavlodar, but & nbsp; Bayanaul district & nbsp; & mdash; from & nbsp; villages, which are located about 200 kilometers from the & nbsp; regional center. They said they were & nbsp; brought to & nbsp; town.
