UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres went into self-isolation after contact with an infected coronavirus and canceled all upcoming face-to-face meetings. Reported by France 24.

According to the TV channel, contact with the infected occurred on Tuesday. As noted by TASS, the UN Secretary General has no symptoms of the disease, the results of the first test were negative. Nevertheless, Guterres will work from home as a precaution until the second test is carried out on December 9.

Earlier, Guterres called unfair and ineffective the restrictions on entry imposed by a number of countries due to the omicron strain. At the same time, he called for strengthening control over the spread of the omicron strain in order not to allow the world to “close down” and interrupt economic interaction again.
