For the first time in the history of independent Kyrgyzstan, the parliament was left without Russian deputies. Among other national minorities of the republic, there are three Dungan deputies and one each from Uzbeks and Tajiks. Also, 18 women were elected to the new parliament. 19 out of 90 deputies were previously elected to this position.

On November 28, parliamentary elections were held in Kyrgyzstan. During the automatic counting of votes, a failure occurred in the system, due to which a number of parties did not recognize the voting results. The country's CEC stated that the error was technical and did not affect the voting results in any way.

On November 29, a rally was held near the CEC building. The demonstrators called the elections rigged and demanded a repeat vote.

Earlier, the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan announced that it had revealed a plan for a coup d'etat in the country.
