Matkapital will be additionally indexed in Russia

The State Duma adopted a law on additional indexation of maternity capital from February 1

The State Duma adopted in the third, final reading, a law on additional indexation of maternity capital from February 1, taking into account the consumer price growth index. This is reported by Interfax.

The indexation coefficient, which will be determined by the government, will also be taken into account. Earlier, the amendments to the relevant bill were made by the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Anna Kuznetsova. According to the current legislation, the size of maternity capital is indexed according to the forecast inflation. Now maternal capital will be indexed according to actual inflation.

“The size of maternal (family) capital is revised annually from February 1 of the current year based on the consumer price growth index for the previous year in accordance with the indexation coefficient determined by the government of the Russian Federation”, – specified in the text of the law.

They promised to compensate Russian pensioners for too high a rise in prices. As the head of the Ministry of Labor Anton Kotyakov said, now the department is working out proposals for additional compensation for high inflation. Kotyakov said that within the framework of the adopted budget, the indexation of pensions by 5.9 percent is envisaged, but at the end of the year inflation will be slightly higher.

Earlier it was reported that the government commission had approved a bill on expanding the rights of fathers to maternity capital. It will be submitted to the State Duma in the near future. According to the document, only men who are married and are raising children with a spouse, who became their adoptive mother, will be able to count on state support.
