However, for several years, Shatalov never received real estate and was forced to live in a rented apartment.
As a result, the department went to court to restore the rights of the Paralympian and oblige the city administration to purchase housing for him. As a result, Shatalov received a comfortable apartment in Chelyabinsk.
In August 2021, the authorities of the Republic of Buryatia announced that they would present a certificate for the purchase of an apartment to the Russian cyclist Mikhail Astashov, who set a world record at the Paralympics in Tokyo. They decided to give the athlete the opportunity to buy housing with an area of 70-80 square meters.
