Murder suspect arrested in Moscow 24 years after the crime

Investigators have solved the murder of a foreigner in Moscow 24 years after the crime This was reported to Lente.ru on Monday, December 6, by the representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) in Moscow, Yulia Ivanova.

According to the agency, the body of a foreigner with traces of strangulation was found in October 1997 in one from apartments on Moldagulova street. At that time, the investigation reached a dead end and the murder was not solved.

But the case was not closed, it was in the Criminalistics Department of the Main Investigation Department of the TFR. The material evidence seized more than 24 years ago retained traces of the crime, and the investigators established the criminal's DNA based on the results of molecular genetic examinations.

The main suspect is a man born in 1978. At the time of the crime he was 21 years old. Now the suspect has been sent to an isolation ward for the duration of the investigation, and forensic experts are checking his involvement in other possible crimes.
