The parliamentarian explained that such publications prepare the atmosphere necessary for aggression. He recalled that a similar escalation in the Western media took place before the invasions of Iraq and Libya.

On December 4, American intelligence “discovered” that Russia was planning an invasion of Ukraine, and drew up a map of the offensive on several fronts. As a spokesman for the US administration clarified, speaking on condition of anonymity, the scale of the forces “is twice that which we saw last spring during Russia's operational exercises near the borders of Ukraine.” At the same time, it was announced that a Russian attack on Ukraine could occur in late January – early February. According to Bild, the attack will consist of three phases, the final of which involves the advance of troops to the Korosten-Uman line in order to cut off supplies from the western regions of Ukraine. At this stage, the surrender of Kiev is expected.

Earlier, the Kremlin commented on the data on the allegedly impending Russian invasion of Ukraine. According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Russia is recording an information campaign emanating from the West, the purpose of which is to present Moscow as a threat to the settlement process in Ukraine.
