Russian fighters climbed over the Black Sea to escort US aircraft

Air targets approaching the borders of Russia have discovered airspace control devices. “To identify air targets and prevent violation of the State Border of the Russian Federation, Su-27 and Su-30 fighters were raised into the air,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian Defense Ministry reports that the Russian Aerospace Forces fighters identified targets as the US Air Force RC-135 strategic reconnaissance aircraft and the US Army CL-600 Artemis reconnaissance and targeting aircraft. The Ministry of Defense notes that after the U-turn of American aircraft, the Su-27 and Su-30 returned to the airfield.

On November 13, it became known that at the time of the flight of Russian missile carriers of long-range aviation Tu-160 over the neutral waters of the Barents, Norwegian and North Sea, in a separate area they were almost closely approached and accompanied by British fighters.
