EU will study the situation with the exclusion of Lithuania from the Chinese customs system

EU Representative Massrali: The European Commission is studying the exclusion of Lithuania from the customs system of the PRC … This was stated by the representative of the Foreign Policy Service of the European Union (EU) Nabila Massrali, reports TASS.

“We are currently in contact with Vilnius and Beijing to clarify the situation,” said the representative of the association. It is noted that as a result of this step by the Chinese side, Lithuanian entrepreneurs cannot legalize goods delivered to China.

At the end of November, it became known that China had lowered diplomatic relations with Lithuania to the level of a chargé d'affaires and changed the status of the Chinese diplomatic mission in Vilnius from the embassy to the representative office. The decision was made due to the fact that Vilnius approved the opening of a representative office of Taiwan. The Chinese Foreign Ministry stressed that Vilnius approved the establishment of a representative office of Taiwan in Lithuania, despite the protests of Beijing.
