The appearance of “Bastions” in the Kuril Islands was explained by the solution of the Japanese riddle

The deployment of DBK “Bastion” in the Kuril Islands became possible after solving the problem of water supply

Kurilakh became possible after Russian specialists managed to solve the problems with the water supply of the military town. This explanation was given by journalist Alexander Kots in his Telegram channel.

According to him, five years ago he spent about a month on the island of Matua, where Bastions are now located. Then the Russian military was engaged in a large-scale study of the island, studying the engineering structures that remained there after the Japanese. In particular, Kots suggested, experts were trying to find out how the Japanese garrison, which was located on Matua during the Second World War, was once supplied with water.

“Because if you put a base here, you need water. Apparently, they have solved this Japanese riddle, “the journalist concluded.

Earlier on December 2, it became known that on the Kuril island of Matua, for the first time, the crews of the Bastion DBK of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet) were deployed and took over on duty. It was reported that an autonomous military town was deployed on the island, suitable for year-round service and residence of personnel.

As explained by military expert Viktor Litovkin, “Bastions” on Matua will protect Russian waters.
