Former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada spoke about a possible coup in Ukraine

Former Rada deputy Zhuravko: Zelensky needs rumors of a coup for the illusion of control

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky needed rumors of a coup d'etat and the imposition of martial law for self-promotion, raising his own rating, and also to create the illusion of control over the situation, former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksandr Zhuravko said. In a conversation with Lenta.ru, he added that no coup in the country will happen until Western partners want it.

Earlier, Zelensky said that he was informed about the impending coup happen on December 1st. There were also rumors about the possible introduction of martial law on the same day. But, according to Zhuravko, all this is nothing more than an artificial whipping up of hysteria in society.

Working ahead of the curve

“No coup could have happened. It would take place only if Western partners had given the go-ahead, ”the politician said. – Zelensky, making such a statement, pursued two goals: to raise his rating, to show how he keeps everything under control, and secondly, to whip up hysteria in order to prevent an already real attempt to overthrow. Worked ahead of the curve. But we must understand that everything is still ahead, the president has already made it clear that a military scenario of a conflict with Russia is inevitable, so it’s difficult to predict further developments. ”

Zhuravko is sure that Zelensky is partly cornered, frightening with a possible overthrow and forcing him into a conflict with Russia. The politician, according to him, is very frightened by what is happening and will do everything to maintain power.

“He was very frightened by his own statement about the coup, he was frightened by the conflict with Russia. Scared by everyone. But we must understand that this little man, cornered, this Napoleon, is still capable of actions. Any provocations can be expected from him, both in the direction of Donbass and, by the way, in the direction of Crimea in order to create a pretext for the start of a conflict, “Zhuravko believes.

The politician suggested that provocations against Crimea can be of completely different kinds: this is the dispatch of sabotage detachments, and the passage of military ships through the water area of the peninsula.

“I do not exclude that some kind of missile can take off,” he added. – Zelensky is now torn apart by contradictions: you want to take everything away by force, and you also want to meet with Putin. But you need to decide. Now I see that everything is heading towards a forceful scenario, and sooner or later this abscess may burst. ”
