The Ministry of Emergency Situations announced a fire in the Listvyazhnaya mine of the Kemerovo region

Acting Head of the RF Ministry of Emergency Situations Chupriyan: a fire was recorded in several parts of the Listvyazhnaya mine fire. This was stated by the Acting Head of the EMERCOM of Russia Alexander Chupriyan, his words are quoted by TASS.

According to Chupriyan, samples taken from the external environment and inside the mine showed that carbon monoxide has increased fivefold, in addition, it has grown acetylene.

“The growth of acetylene and carbon means that combustion occurs in some points of the mine,” said the acting head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

Earlier, the department reported that there were traces of fire in the mine is not observed, therefore, degassing and extraction of methane from the working face continued.

The Governor of the region Sergey Tsivilev spoke about the work being done at the Listvyazhnaya mine to prevent further explosions. Wells continue to be drilled into the mine, it will take about 5-6 days.

A methane explosion in the Listvyazhnaya mine in the Kemerovo Region took place on the morning of November 25. As a result, 51 people died, among them five mine rescuers who went in search of miners, 96 were injured. A criminal case was initiated, five suspects, including the director of the mine, were arrested.
