Russia accused Ukraine of failure to fulfill obligations of the Normandy format

Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation Gryzlov: Kiev has not fulfilled any obligations in the Normandy format that the Kiev authorities for two years did not fulfill any of the commitments adopted at the meeting in the Normandy format (with the participation of Ukraine, Germany, Russia and France). His words are quoted by TASS.

“The Ukrainian government has not fulfilled any of its obligations assumed in the Normandy format. Moreover, the Ukrainian side continues to block the work of the Contact Group, “the diplomat said.

Gryzlov added that Kiev gives neither a positive nor a negative answer to all the proposals of the unrecognized Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR) , as well as guarantees for a peaceful political settlement.

The plenipotentiary stressed that work on the Roadmap for a comprehensive political settlement of the conflict in accordance with the Minsk agreements, which provides for consistent steps in the military, economic and humanitarian spheres, is also blocked.

According to Gryzlov, Ukraine is trying to discuss certain aspects that are politically beneficial to it, but at the same time does not disclose its vision of a comprehensive solution to the situation in Donbass.

Earlier in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky was accused of the intention to unleash a war for the sake of strengthening their own power. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, in turn, rejected Kiev's plans to resolve the conflict in Donbass by military means. He stressed that the Ukrainian state “does not attack anyone.”
