According to Ghebreyesus, the longer this inequality exists, the more opportunities there are the virus will spread and evolve in a way that cannot be predicted or prevented. “We have warned that the poorest and most vulnerable countries will be trampled under the global crush for vaccines. This is what happened. More than 80 percent of vaccines are found in 20 countries, ”he said.
