Another country has decided to interrupt flights due to a new strain

The Moroccan authorities decided to interrupt flights due to the omicron coronavirus strain

for a new strain of coronavirus omicron. This was reported on the website of the Moroccan Foreign Ministry.

The restrictions come into effect on November 29 at 23:59 local time (01:59 on November 30 Moscow time) and will last two weeks. It is noted that the situation will be regularly assessed in order to adjust existing measures, if necessary.

Earlier, the borders for foreigners due to the new COVID-19 strain were decided to close in Israel. Entry there will be closed to foreigners from all countries, except in cases approved by the Committee on Exclusions.

For the first time, a new strain of coronavirus B.1.1.529 or omicron was discovered in Botswana, South Africa and Hong Kong. It is assumed that it can become the most dangerous variant of infection.
