“United Russia” expelled the ex-mayor of Prokopyevsk from the party for a banquet during mourning City Council Natalia Burdina was expelled from the United Russia party. According to Sinitsyn, the party decided to expel members because of a banquet during the mourning for those killed at the Listvyazhnaya mine. The senator noted that it was Starchenko and Burdina who had to fulfill the governor's decision to declare mourning. Both officials have lost their posts.

Earlier, video blogger Tuligen Adamov revealed the details of the officials' banquet. Adamov said that the activists managed to get into the banquet hall and take several pictures due to the carelessness of one of the guests, who went out to smoke and forgot to close the door behind him. At the same time, the ex-mayor himself claims that there was no celebration in honor of his inauguration. Starchenko also said that the banquet was filmed by “a completely unknown person”, and he himself was not present at the event.
