Earlier, economist Leonid Khazanov predicted that it would hardly be possible to abandon metallic money in the next five years, since there are still many remote settlements in Russia where there are no ATMs and shops do not use online payments. He stressed that if the coins are quickly withdrawn from circulation, then the villagers may have difficulties in paying for goods.
