The immunologist named the duration of the protection of the vaccine against COVID-19 in young people

Immunologist Kryuchkov: Russians can be revaccinated nine months after vaccination Nikolai Kryuchkov in an interview with radio Sputnik called the duration of protection of vaccinations against COVID-19 in young people.

According to the specialist, according to the latest data, there are relatively high levels of antibodies, in which revaccination can be postponed. “However, there is no definitive answer yet, since studies of the relationship between the level of antibodies and their protective properties are still underway,” the immunologist said.

At the same time, if it is possible to collect a sufficient amount of data, then some Russians may not be revaccinated through six, and nine months after vaccination or illness. “For some young and healthy people without chronic diseases, most likely, after the end of the research, the protective period will be even longer, maybe even eight or nine months,” the specialist explained.

Kryuchkov concluded that vaccination is the only confirmed way to reduce the risk of coronavirus infection and prevent a severe course of the disease.

On October 30, the head of the Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko, during a working trip to the Vladimir region, recommended using the Sputnik Light single-component vaccine only for repeated vaccination. At the same time, as the first vaccination, the minister still advised the use of vaccines registered in Russia, including Sputnik V.
