Kazarnovsky was killed in the spring of 2018 after a hockey match. He sponsored one of the clubs and attended a night league game. The killer fired at least seven bullets at the businessman, after which he fled in a car driven by Vladimir M.

The background was the theft of 35 million rubles from his company. Kazarnovsky then caught the kidnapper red-handed – it was the chief accountant.

The businessman did not report the incident to the police, but demanded that the stolen goods be returned to him. Then the husband of the chief accountant began to think about how to get rid of Kazarnovsky, and he himself acted as a murderer. Vladimir M. helped him with a plan of action and weapons.

According to Olga Vradiy, senior assistant to the head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region, the killer is on the international wanted list. He was charged with a crime in absentia.
