The department added that since the beginning of the pandemic, children accounted for more than five percent of all cases of infection. In more than half of them, COVID-19 proceeds with clinical manifestations, for many the disease is severe.
Earlier it became known that the Russian Ministry of Health registered a coronavirus vaccine for adolescents. Based on the results of clinical trials, the drug for COVID-19 has shown high efficacy and safety.
According to the agency, the vaccine for adolescents was created on the same platform as the Russian drug for coronavirus Sputnik V. It consists of two components, which are injected at intervals of 21 days.
