The message about the past eight kilometers of orphans turned out to be unreliable

Information about children who walked 8 km in Yakutia for employment turned out to be unreliable eight kilometers in the city of Mirny (Yakutia) for the sake of employment, turned out to be unreliable. The relevant information appeared in the Instagram account “Mirny Yakutia (Sakha)”. The post has now been removed, but a screenshot of the post has been preserved in the regional media.

In mid-November, an Instagram account posted a photo of two young children with the text: “But these two children were brought home by the police, because they were trying to get a job … The children came to the store and in all seriousness asked to be taken as loaders so that they could earn for bread. The police who arrived found out that the children had walked eight kilometers from the place where they live, and all because the children’s father died of oncology, and the mother fell ill with covid, and there is no food in the house. ”

The photo of the children, which the Instagram account presented as genuine, first appeared on January 24, 2017 on the website of the Pokrovsky District Police Department of the Donetsk Region of Ukraine. The department said that the police rescued a four-year-old sick boy who was not looked after by his parents.

The publication of the Yakut public was denied by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the republic. “We would like to inform you that this information does not correspond to reality. The photo posted in the public refers to the events of 2017 that took place outside the territory of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), ”the statement on the agency’s website says.

On this fact, the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Mirninsky District began an audit.

The fact that the post on the Instagram account “Mirny Yakutia (Sakha)” was deleted is also indicative of the inaccuracy of the information.

The post of the public spread on other social networks, but was almost never published in the media : news about this was given by SakhaNews. At the same time, many Yakut media outlets released a message referring to the Ministry of Internal Affairs refuting information about orphans: IA YASIA, YakutiaMedia, Yakutsk.ru and others.
