Russian stock market closed lower

The Moscow Exchange Index fell 0.25%

The Russian stock market closed with the fall of the main stock indexes on Wednesday, November 24. The Moscow Exchange and RTS indices ended the day in the red, despite the successful opening of the main trading session. The Moscow Exchange index fell to 3950.56 points (minus 0.25 percent), the RTS index – to 1660.59 points (minus 0.11 percent), according to trading data.

Among the blue chips of the Moscow Exchange, only five companies out of 15 turned out to be positive. The largest growth was shown by the securities of Surgutneftegaz (plus 3.44 percent, to 41.16 rubles per share), Novatek (plus 0.73 percent, to 1,677.4 rubles) and Lukoil (plus 0.13 percent) … The most depreciated were the securities of Polyus (minus 3.46 percent, to 14,240 rubles), Polymetal (minus 3.23 percent, to 1,330.4 rubles) and TCS Group.

Despite the successful financial results for the third quarter and growth of almost five percent during the day, the shares of the parent company Tinkoff Bank closed the main session with a fall of 2.88 percent, to 6845 rubles apiece.

The ruble continues to weaken against major world currencies. The dollar rate rose to 74.94 rubles (plus 0.65 rubles), the euro rate rose to 83.91 rubles (plus 0.34 rubles). Bitcoin was trading at $ 57,139 per coin.
