Police detained for extortion of 1.3 million rubles from a Russian

The FSB detained police officers in Magnitogorsk who were extorting money from a Russian extorting 1.3 million rubles from a Russian. This was announced on Wednesday, November 24, by the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR).

According to the investigation, in November Russian police threatened a resident of Magnitogorsk with initiating a case against him under Article 137 (“Illegal collection of information about private life “) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, if he does not give them the required amount of money. The man agreed, but asked for an installment plan. He gave the extortionists 500 thousand rubles and turned to law enforcement agencies.

Soon the suspects were detained by FSB operatives in the Chelyabinsk region. Investigative actions are underway aimed at collecting and consolidating the evidence base.

On November 19, it was reported that an operative who extorted 100 thousand rubles from a Russian woman under the threat of her son's arrest was detained in the Moscow region.
