Germany recorded a record number of COVID-19 diseases per day

Koch Institute: Germany has recorded a record number of coronavirus cases per day This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Robert Koch Institute.

According to the Institute, on November 23, 66,884 new cases of coronavirus were detected in Germany. In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, almost 5.5 million cases of infection and more than 99 thousand deaths associated with the infection have been registered in the country. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Europe is currently leading in the number of coronavirus infections, where their number increased by 11 percent over the past week.

Earlier, German Health Minister Jens Spahn said that by the end of winter the entire population of the country will either receive the COVID-19 vaccine or face the consequences of the infection. “Probably by the end of winter, as it is sometimes cynically said, practically everyone in Germany will be vaccinated, healed or dead,” he predicted. Spahn stressed that he still does not support the idea of compulsory vaccination, which, according to him, will not be able to accelerate the emergence of herd immunity.

On November 13, the country's authorities announced the mobilization of 12,000 troops. These forces will be involved in the fight against the fourth wave of coronavirus by the end of this year. In particular, the military will provide logistics services to German clinics and build temporary hospitals.
