Former Khabarovsk governor Furgal brought new charges

The ex-governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Furgal, was accused of organizing a criminal community seven episodes of fraud. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a lawyer.

According to the investigation, Furgal created a criminal group that attempted the murder of Alexander Smolsky from 2004 to 2005, and also dealt with businessmen Yevgeny Zorey and Oleg Bulatov. The motive for the crimes was Furgal's desire to expand his business.

He and his business partner Nikolai Mistryukov opened points for receiving scrap metal in the Amur Region, but their competitor Smolsky, who bought raw materials from customers at a better price, interfered with them. Unable to come to an agreement with him, Furgal and Mistryukov decided to kill him. Two grenades were thrown into Smolsky's garage, but he survived. The perpetrator of the assassination attempt was Marat Kadyrov.
