Foreign Ministers of Russia and Armenia discussed settlement in Karabakh

Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Russia discussed the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border Mirzoyan discussed the settlement process in Karabakh by phone. The press service of the foreign ministry of the republic reports this, Sputnik Armenia reports.

During the conversation, the ministers talked about the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the implementation of trilateral statements of November 10, 2020 and January 11, 2021. Mirzoyan and Lavrov noted that a comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is possible through peaceful negotiations within the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.

The Armenian Foreign Minister presented to his Russian counterpart the situation created by the actions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on the territory Armenia. The diplomat also noted the role of the Armenian-Russian allied relations in the context of establishing stability in the region.

Earlier, the Kremlin reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev agreed to hold trilateral talks on To Karabakh on November 26 in Sochi. It is specified that the meeting will be held on the initiative of the Russian leader. It will be timed to coincide with the anniversary of the signing of the ceasefire declaration and all hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone on November 9, 2020. Also on this day, Vladimir Putin will hold separate talks with Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan.
