Russians warned of fraud when booking hotels in Thailand

The Bangkok Post: Thailand Hotels Deliberately Mislead Tourists Apisamai Srirangson warned tourists about fraudulent hotel reservations at the resort. This is reported by The Bangkok Post.

According to her, many SHA + certified hotels deliberately mislead guests and sell only accommodation to foreign travelers, including Russian ones. However, under the SandBox program, hotels are required to include airport transfers and PCR tests in the price.

“Tourists received a QR code to enter Thailand through the Thailand Pass electronic system. It was only at the border that it became clear that the package did not include the obligatory transfer and tests for COVID-19, ”Srirangson said. She added that in such situations, arrivals have to quickly buy on the spot a new SHA + package due to the risk of denial of entry into the country.

In this regard, the spokeswoman recommended that travelers should ask the hotel in writing at the stage of booking confirmation that the transfer and medical tests are included in the voucher.

Earlier in November, it became known about massive complaints from Russians about difficulties entering Thailand. We are talking about registration in the ThaiPass system – from November 1, all travelers arriving in Thailand are required to provide the necessary list of documents online.
