Astrakhan organized criminal group was sentenced to terms for 35 crimes

In Astrakhan, a group of Russians was convicted of stealing gas worth 95 million rubles to conditional and real terms for gas theft for 95 million rubles. This was reported to “Lente.ru” in the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

According to the investigation, from 2011 to 2019, they illegally connected to the low-pressure gas pipeline at commercial facilities and secretly stole gas. The members of the organized criminal group were found guilty of 35 crimes.

The leader of the Astrakhan group was sentenced on aggregate crimes to three years and six months in a colony, six members – to terms ranging from one and six months to three years. Two more members of the organized criminal group were sentenced to a year on probation.

Earlier it became known that the FSB uncovered multimillion-dollar embezzlement during the implementation of a state contract to create an engineering center (EC) “Green Chemistry” in one of the universities in Tver. As a result of a criminal conspiracy, the university received a centrifuge not for 10 million rubles, according to the agreement, but used and worth 1.35 million rubles.
