Ashot Khachaturyants was elected president of the Russian Premier League. This is reported by TASS.

The elections were held on Monday, November 22, at the general meeting of the RPL. Khachaturyants was the only candidate for the post of head of the league.

Since October, Khachaturyants has been acting head of the RPL. This happened after Sergei Pryadkin, who headed the organization since 2007, resigned. It was noted that the new head of the RPL will not have a fixed salary.

Since November 2019, Khachaturyants has been the chairman of the referee committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU). He also heads the expert and judicial commission under the President of the RFU Alexander Dyukov. In addition, he is a member of the Committee for Football Development Programs and the RFU Executive Committee.
