Passengers of flight Surgut — Moscow has been detained after attempted hijacking

MOSCOW, January 22. /TASS/. The perpetrator of the incident on the flight from Surgut to Moscow is delayed. About TASS said the official representative SK the Russian Federation Svetlana Petrenko.

“The man is detained, they have been previously convicted for damage to property a resident of Surgut”, — said Petrenko.

According to preliminary data of the investigation, “the passenger is intoxicated, threatening that he had a weapon, during the flight tried to break into the cockpit and demanded to change the course of the aircraft.” The commander of the ship decided to make an emergency landing in Khanty-Mansiysk.

“In fact PE initiated a criminal case under paragraph “C” of part 2 of article 211 of the criminal code (“Stealing of the aircraft, coupled with the threat of violence”),” — said Petrenko.

“On a scene works enhanced investigative group, conducted necessary investigative actions directed on establishment of all circumstances of incident”, — said the representative of the UK.

In a press-service of the Ural investigatory management on transport SK the Russian Federation TASS said that the detained passenger, previously, was not. “According to preliminary data, the weapons he [the detainee] was not” — said the press service.

The plane of airline “Aeroflot” (flight SU1515, tail number VP-BRR) flew from Surgut to Moscow at 12:55 GMT and 15 minutes after takeoff changed course. Emergency services reported that the course change was caused by the misbehaviour of one of the passengers. The plane was redirected to the airport of Khanty-Mansiysk, where it landed at 14:18 GMT.
