For the first time in Russia opened a criminal case under article about the activities of “undesirable” organizations

In Kazan opened the first criminal case against a member of the Federal Council of the movement “Open Russia” Anastasia Shevchenko article about the activities of “undesirable” organizations. The announcement on January 21 has appeared in the telegrams-channel “Protection Cards”.

On the morning of 21 January in Kazan and Rostov-on-don searches were held in the homes of the lawyer and activists of the movement “Open Russia”. In “Advocacy Cards” I write that it presumably was brought under article 284.1 of the Criminal code — on activities in Russia the organization, which recognized the “unwanted”.

Searches were held in apartments coordinator Elena Menshenina, activists Anton Prikhodko, Olga Zenin and Irina Zenin. The resolution on a search in the apartment of a lawyer “Open Russia”, Elsa Nyssanbekova, in Kazan also gave the Rostov court.

17 January in Pskov detained the coordinator of the local branch of the “Open Russia” a Leah Milushkina and her husband, the activist of the Pskov headquarters of Alexei Navalny Artem Milushkin. They were accused of sale of drugs in especially large size. The court decided to put Leah Milushkina under house arrest for two months, her husband will remain in custody until March 15. The guilt, the activists not guilty and declared a hunger strike in protest.

“Open Russia” — a public organization created in 2001 by shareholders of Yukos, in particular Mikhail Khodorkovsky, who at first was Chairman of the Board. In 2016, Russia has established a network of public-political movement “Open Russia”, which has no official status. “Unwanted” “Open Russia” was recognized in the spring of 2017.
