Search and rescue operations on a place of explosion and partial collapse of a residential building in Magnitogorsk will take a few more days, as the timing will be affected by dismantling of the structures that can collapse. This was reported to journalists by the Governor of the Chelyabinsk region Boris Dubrovsky.
The night before, the head EMERCOM of Russia Evgeny Senichev said to accurately predict the timing of completion of the rubble impossible. According to his estimates, the work was supposed to last at least two days. But on Tuesday, rescuers had to reformat the work: it took the demolition of the wall of the house that could collapse.
There is a dismantling of top plates that hang over the area of disassembly. Rescuers are unable to work under them without danger of falling under these plates. Apparently, this will lengthen the period of disassembly of the rubble, but this is the only opportunity not to obtain a new tragedy in this [place].
He noted that the search and rescue work will be continued as soon as they dismantled a dangerous design.
Monday in Magnitogorsk there was a collapse of overlappings in one of entrances of the 10-storey residential building. Russia’s investigative Committee considers explosion of household gas as a priority versions of what happened. According to the latest data, five people were hospitalized, seven died, another body is discovered but not yet recovered from the rubble, which does not admit death, the fate of 36 people remains unknown.
