Designer and lecturer March Flisikowski from Gdansk showed how could look like the noses of the people, if they lived on Mars.

The nose of the people were changed in the process of evolution. His form shows in which climatic conditions our ancestors lived. For example, low wide nose is common in people living in hot and humid climate. Narrow nose is dominated by the residents of cold regions. If people lived on Mars, their noses eventually would have acquired an unusual shape.

14 years ago, NASA even launched a special program Human Research Program to study how to affect physical and mental health of the astronauts life on the space station. A year ago the results were published, and they said Flisikowski pushed her to start a project Who Nose.

Designer printed three versions of the nose on a 3D printer. And in the journal of Science and Technology of the Arts published a theoretical justification for why the “Martian” noses could look like that.

The first nose is wavy or curly, making it the best resonator for our voice. The second nose two pairs of nostrils to better warm the air. The third nose — flat. So it is less susceptible to sunburn. Flat noses are also more convenient to wear a helmet from a spacesuit.
