The special design of the roof creates the illusion of a forest.

Modern office design requires increasingly bold ideas. So the architectural office Benthem Crouwel Architects had to consider how to reconstruct an abandoned building in the South of Amsterdam to the lottery company Goede Doelen Loterijen could make it their headquarters.

In the office Goede Doelen Loterijen employs about 600 people. They were asked to Express their wishes regarding the workplace. In the end, it was decided to create a common working space, but make it comfortable and cozy.

The roof of the four-story building made of aluminum panels in the form of diamonds. It is supported by columns shaped like trees. Under the roof planted plants, and the space became even more like a forest. Translucent roof diffuses sunlight and helps create soft, cozy lighting.
