In Amsterdam established statue dedicated to smartphone addiction (photos)
The modern obsession with technology is getting out of control, according to the author of the sculpture.

In the capital of the Netherlands has installed a sculpture that depicts people completely absorbed in their phones.
The author of a work called “Absorbed light” — British artist Gali Mae Lucas. She created a series of statues in collaboration with sculptor Caroline Hinz. The sculpture shows three people sitting nearby, but do not pay each other any attention, because buried in the screens of their phones.

According to Lucas, she wanted to emphasize the modern obsession with technology, which is getting out of control. The time we spend on smartphones, could be spent more usefully, such as communicating with loved ones, she recalls.

The sculptures were installed during the annual Amsterdam light festival, which begins in late November and lasts all winter. Painters and sculptors from around the world come to the capital of the Netherlands to open exhibition, set your installation or show light show.
