The most attention he drew to the danger of the situation between Moscow and Kiev, where Russia is accused of preparing for the invasion of Ukraine, and Petro Poroshenko requests aid from NATO countries.

Alan West also warned about the possible deployment of NATO ships in the Black sea, noting that a similar situation provoked the outbreak of the First world war.

“This is what led to the First world war. Although the impetus for it was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, but then conducted a policy of balancing on the brink of war,” said West.

He also added that he sees quick start of full-scale war in Ukraine, if Russia starts to use the “troops” in the Donbass, but, in his opinion, NATO will not dare to intervene in the conflict.
