Photographer from new York showed how people live in Mongolia

For the first time he heard about this country from his grandfather, who during world war II saved the group of Mongolian soldiers.

Photographer frédéric Lagrange has spent 17 years exploring Mongolia.

He published a book, which contains photographs of landscapes and people of this country, their culture and way of life.

In 2001, living in new York, the Frenchman worked as a photographer’s assistant. He had barely collected the required amount, took a vacation for a month and visited Western Mongolia. All the time he spent shooting the vast landscapes of a distant country.

Back in new York, the photographer realized how little he traveled, and wanted to go back again to Mongolia to see the Gobi desert, herders, hunters, and more. So Frederick was born the idea of the book. He gathered her material for 17 years.
