There looking for the caretaker of the small historic island of Lihue, which is located in the English channel at 500 meters from the West coast of Guernsey.

Vacancy opened in December, after the current caretaker of the 50-year-old Richard Curtis announced his desire to leave office after 14 years spent on the island.

In Lihue there are quite a decent size house with all amenities, garage with a tractor and several outbuildings. There is also a small garden with a vegetable garden and a natural pool where you can swim during summer.

The duties of the caretaker will include support and maintenance, support and monitoring of the island is often visited by tourists.

House on the island was built in the 1960-ies, but a few years later it was abandoned. In 2005 was formed the charity Fund to Lihue (one of its founders and is the current overseer Richard Curtis), thanks to which the building was restored, and the island was again inhabited.

During the download an error has occurred.Curtis noted that sadly leaves his job and house, but now his children were grown and gone, and because he and his wife decided to change life and move to France. However, a new candidate for the responsible position he will take personally.

To get to the island is either by boat or during low tide when the “open” paved road linking Lihue to the neighbouring island of Guernsey.
