For discrimination of persons with disabilities may introduce criminal liability
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev instructed the Ministry of justice, Ministry of labor and Ministry of economic development to study the feasibility of increasing the penalty for discrimination against the disabled. The order was given following the meeting with representatives of public organizations.

“To consider the necessity of amending the legislation of the Russian Federation aimed at the development of civil legal mechanisms to protect persons with disabilities against discrimination, including the possibility of placing the burden of proof of non-discrimination of disabled person a person who, in the opinion of the disabled person, violated his rights,” reads the list of instructions published on the government website.
