Lavrov: Russia is not concerned about possible sanctions because of the situation in the Kerch Strait

The Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation stated that the actions of Kiev in the Kerch Strait had violated key provisions of international law.

TASS, 26 Nov. Russia is not concerned about possible sanctions because of the situation in the Kerch Strait, said the Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov.

The Minister also said that on the eve in the Kerch Strait was clearly a provocation of Kiev.

The Russian foreign Minister noted that the actions of Kiev in the Kerch Strait had violated key provisions of international law. Kiev acted in the Kerch Strait dangerous methods, maneuvering created a threat to the normal movement of ships, said the Minister.

Lavrov said that no one doubts that the provocation was made on the direct orders of the highest leadership of Ukraine.

Lavrov added that Russia carries out inspections of vessels in the Azov sea in full compliance with international agreements. He also said that Russia calls on the Western sponsors of the Kiev to calm down those who are trying to score political points before the presidential elections in Ukraine.

In addition, the Minister believes that Kyiv after the imposition of martial law may decide that he has a free hand in the Donbass.
