Hospital angel, located in the mainland of Venice, is considered the world’s first “green” hospital. This is an example of ergonomic symbiosis of architecture and flora.

Hospital angel was conceived and built as the most modern in technical terms, the construction using green technologies. The project was made by a famous Argentine architect Emilio Ambasz, the father of many “green” buildings worldwide.

The hall is a huge winter garden. Its length is 200 metres and a height of 30 m. half of the wards of the hospital Windows and access to planted it with exotic trees.

On the roofs of the main building, Parking lots and other areas of the hospital are growing all kinds of plants. Two ponds on the premises function as water tanks. All green plantings suppress the noise, providing additional sound insulation.

The hospital has 680 beds. There are 16 operating and 535 Parking spaces.

Ospedale Dell’angelo longer designed than built. The decision to build a new hospital was made in 1979, but then construction was halted for several reasons. The case was moved forward in 2002, six years after the hospital opened for patients. Today it is one of the best medical centers in Italy.
