The relevant amendments to the media law will come into force on 1 December 2018. The changes include that the Internet resources will be able to collect users ‘ personal information: surname, name, patronymic, gender, date and place of birth, email address and information about the time of publication, as well as identifying information about the subscriber’s user devices (MAC address, internal and external IP addresses).

Resource owners will have to store these data and provide them on demand of the prosecution, the court and other oversight agencies.
