On 22 September during a military parade in Ahwaz there was a terrorist attack. Fire on the people was opened by unknown gunmen who were behind the podium, at least 29 people were killed and another 57 were injured. According to the Agency ISNA, the responsibility for the attack has assumed associated with Saudi Arabia, the group “Patriotic Arab democratic movement in Ahwaz”. At the same time, Reuters reported that the responsibility for the attack claimed the militants of the terrorist group “Islamic state” (banned in Russia).
