The state Duma adopted the law on the punishment for refusing to hire individuals close to retirement age

The state Duma plenary session on Tuesday adopted in the third final reading the presidential draft law on punishment for denial of employment of citizens approaching retirement age.

MOSCOW, September 25 — RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin in early September, introduced the lower house of the Parliament a draft law, according to which denial of employment or unjustified dismissal of persons close to retirement age subject to a fine up to 200 thousand rubles or compulsory work up to 360 hours. Appropriate changes are proposed to the criminal code of the Russian Federation.

Under pensionable age refers to the age period up to five years preceding the appointment of the person insured old-age pension in accordance with pension legislation of the Russian Federation also reported in the text of the document.

In the explanatory Memorandum to the draft notes that it is aimed at achievement of target indicators of long-term development Strategy of the Russian pension system, including the balancing and long-term financial sustainability of the pension system.
