On the West coast of Madagascar is a unique nature reserve Tingi du Bemaraha. His cosmic landscape little disturbed by human activity, as old trees become a refuge for the threatened extinction of the indri indri and lemurs.

The word Bemaraha — a place name. The so-called mountain range in the West of the island. But scurvy, or zingy is limestone cliffs, dotted with vertical furrows. They are lined up so thickly that they form this stone forest.

The name of the species was the result of a ridiculous misunderstanding. Seeing the trees lemurs, Malagasy guides were shown to the researchers: “there he is.” In local language it sounded like “indri”.
