Scientists have found that damage to the leaf of the plant stem and leaves “found out” about it because of a change in the amount of calcium. The laboratory has created a molecular sensor that detects a fluorescent substance which responds to the calcium content.

The research assistants also noted the increase and decrease of the calcium level in plants under different conditions. According to scientists, these changes create impulses transmitted from one neuron to another and informing about danger.
