NASA published a picture of the unusual cloud complex shape in the Northern temperate zone of Jupiter.

This intricate landscape is created due to the fact that the swirling bright white cloud concentrations are higher than the other cloud layers, and cast them into the shadows.
Scientists say that such phenomena help to distinguish between different levels of the atmosphere of Jupiter and their composition and origin.
