The number of victims of the earthquake in Iran has reached 310 people

MOSCOW, 26 Aug — RIA Novosti. The number of victims during the earthquake in the West of Iran increased to 310, three people were killed, reports the Iranian news Agency IRIB, citing doctors.

Earlier it was reported 243 wounded and three dead.

According to the Agency Mehr, the eight villages of Kermanshah province were left without electricity. In many parts of the province there were faults with water supply system.

President Hassan Rouhani in a telephone conversation with interior Minister and Governor of Kermanshah province called to provide immediate assistance to earthquake victims, for them to establish help centres, and called for a speedy settlement of the situation in the region.

The earthquake of a magnitude of 6.1 has occurred in the West of Iran in the night on Sunday. The epicenter was 31 km West of the city of Javanroud in Kermanshah province. The focus lies at a depth of 8.3 kilometers. The earthquake also felt the residents of Baghdad, the provinces of Kirkuk, Sulaymaniyah, Diyala and Dahuk, Erbil and other areas of the country.
